TAI CHI (Tai Chi Chuan) is a slow-motion sequence practiced by Chinese martial artists since the twelfth century, and is now a very popular exercise in the world today. This ancient art is a moving meditation and focuses on the circulation of your Chi (Qi, Ki, Prana), a universal life force energy which nourishes and sustains life; the movements help to remove energetic blockages so Chi can flow more smoothly for well-being. Tai Chi may help promote relaxation, better health, longevity, improve flexibility, balance, digestion, concentration, boost the immune function, support the body systems, may help regulate blood pressure, increase bone density and energy, and so many other benefits.
Harvard Medical School Publications have shown that Tai Chi, when combined with standard treatment, appears to be helpful for several medical conditions, such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, sleep problems, heart disease, lowers blood pressure, improves levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, insulin, and C-reactive protein. A 2008 study at the University of Rochester, found that quality of life and functional capacity (including aerobic capacity, muscular strength and flexibility) improved in women with breast cancer who did 12 weeks of Tai Chi. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine stated that research found Tai Chi may be an effective, safe, and practical intervention for maintaining bone mineral density in postmenopausal women, improve balance, and reduce fall frequency. A study from Washington University School of Medicine found that people with Parkinson's disease showed improved balance, walking ability, and overall well-being with Tai Chi.
For those who would like to experience aromatherapy, at the beginning of the class, students have the option of inhaling and applying a different therapeutic-grade essential oil each week to help with such things as relaxation, grounding, releasing negativity, balancing male and female energies, mental clarity, joy, inner peace, etc., and combined with a reading meditation for contemplation. That would be followed by loosening our joints and gentle stretching exercises, then Taiji-Qigong warm-ups with calming music. Afterwards, Part I of the Taijiquan Classical Yang Style would be taught and practiced. Each class would end with Sound Therapy, using a variety of instruments such as singing bowls , tingshas, gong, for grounding and healing, etc..
Come have fun and enjoy all the benefits these classes have to offer for body, mind and spirit, and to help raise our frequency of vibration for well-being. Wear comfortable clothing, and flexible footwear with fairly smooth soles.

QIGONG MEDITATION: EMBRYONIC BREATHING - Practice the Embryonic Breathing technique which will help you to establish your central energy system, conserve your energy, and store it to abundant levels. This breathing meditation is for relaxation, peace of mind, longevity, healing, and to help strengthen the immune system. We will also practice specific breathing exercises to support your health during the season changes. The earliest record in which the concept of the Embryonic Breathing was propounded is from the Dao De Jing written by Lao Zi (born 604 - died 531 B.C.) Most of the documents about Embryonic Breathing were hidden in Buddhist and Daoist monasteries in the past. It was not until the last few decades that almost all of the documents were revealed to the public. So come join us and learn about this ancient breathing secret to help improve your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energetic levels.
